This is one of numerous contributions on the same field of research: linear thermo-magneto-elasticity within the frame of extended thermodynamics. The adopted model is one with three relaxation times, earlier introduced by \textit{S. K. Roy Choudhuri} in [J. Therm. Stresses 30, No.~3, 231--238 (2007), \url{doi:10.1080/01495730601130919}], within the Green-Naghdi theory involving no dissipation. The authors here solve a two-dimensional problem of a fiber-reinforced thermoelastic material occupying a half-space and placed in an initially uniform magnetic field parallel to the bounding surface and in the absence of body force. Motion is induced by a thermal shock applied to the surface of the half-space. A particular solution to the problem is found using normal mode analysis. Numerical calculations and figures are provided for different quantities of practical importance to show the effect of reinforcement and to compare results among the different theories of generalized thermodynamics.
