A subgroup \(X\) of \(G\) is almost normal if the index of its normalizer is finite, it is nearly normal if it is of finite index in its normal closure \(X^G\). \(G\) is generalized radical if it has an ascending normal series with factors that are locally finite or locally nilpotent. The authors show three statements on generalized radical groups \(G\) of infinite rank satisfying a condition \(\mathbf C\) on all subgroups \(X\) of infinite rank: If \(\mathbf C\) means (i) \(X\) is almost normal; (ii) \(X\) is nearly normal; (iii) \(X/X_G\) is finite, then the corresponding result are (i) \(G/Z(G)\) is finite, (ii) \(G'\) is finite, (iii) \(U/U_G\) is finite for all subgroups \(U\) of \(G\), and \(G\) is Abelian-by-finite. Main tool is the consideration of subgroups \(X\) in \(G\) such that there is a normal subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) with finite indices \(|G:H|\) and \(|H'X:X|\) (Neumann property).
