A discrete, deterministic model is presented to represent a use of pheromones in insect pest control. Males are assumed to be attracted to traps containing virgin females releasing male-attracting pheromone (or equivalent pheromone preparation); males entering the traps are killed. Females are assumed monogamous, and males can mate only once per day; both sexes have the same density dependent mortality.
