The authors make a study of the problem of radiated waves due to a line source in the presence of a completely submerged fixed vertical plane barrier in deep water. The Green integral theorem in the fluid region using the known potential function for the corresponding scattered problem has been used to obtain the complex amplitudes of the radiated waves at infinity. This problem is complementary to that of the immersed barrier studied by \textit{D. V. Evans} [J. Inst. Math. Appl. 17, 135-140 (1976; Zbl 0344.76008)].
