Author makes an interesting study of the exact solvability of an \(s\)-wave radial Schrödinger equation with a shifted Pöschl-Teller potential. He shows that results of \textit{M. Simsek} and \textit{Z. Yalçin} [J. Math. Chem. 16, 1-2, 211-215 (1994)] are not correct, and then finds the correct results, and illustrates the form of a doublet of the elementary Simsek and Yalçin's bound states at the corresponding \(\delta= \delta(w)\). It is shown that the simplest possible triplet of choice of \(n_1=1\), \(n_2=2\) and \(n_3=3\) leads to the three nonnumerical and real roots \(\alpha=-1\), \(-2\), \(-3\) which are negative and hence, unacceptable. So the existence of triplets remains an open question.
