    The paper deals with a method for finding the best linearization of the system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations \[ \dot{\mathbf x} = F(t,{\mathbf x}), \quad {\mathbf x}(0) = {\mathbf x}_0, \] by the \(L^2\) norm. The best approximation is obtained as a linear time-varying system \[ \dot{\mathbf x} = A(t){\mathbf x} + B(t), \] using certain analytic and numerical approaches.
