Clifford theory on the Burnside ring (Q1924967): Difference between revisions

In this paper a Clifford theory on the Burnside ring of a finite group is presented. Since no relevant result in this line is known till now, a new concept instead of classical induction, called elevation, has to be introduced to achieve successfully this aim. The consideration of some natural definitions arisen from this new idea allows us to characterize the kinds of groups whose permutation representations have certain special properties. In particular, a characterization of nilpotent groups is given.
