A left-invariant pseudo-Riemannian metric \(g\) on a manifold \(M\) is said to be cyclic if \(\{ g([x, y], z)\} = 0\) for all \(x\), \(y\), \(z \in g\) (where \(\{ \dots\}\) denotes the cyclic sum). Cyclic metric can be considered as essentially different from the bi-invariant ones. By the way, any pseudo-Riemannian on a two-dimensional Lie group is cyclic. In this paper, Lie groups equipped with a left-invariant cyclic Lorentzian metric are considered. It is shown that several results concerning cyclic Riemannian metrics do not extend to their Lorentzian analogues. A full classification of cyclic Lorentzian metrics on simply connected three- and four-dimensional Lie groups is obtained. Also some related problems are considered briefly.
