The first part of this paper is an excellent introduction to basic notions used for the parallel integration of initial value problems for ordinary differential equations (ODEs). For parallelism across space it is useful to classify systems of ODEs into two types: homogeneous and heterogeneous. After the problem of processor communications three methods for homogeneous systems are described. The last two parts consider waveform methods for heterogeneous systems. The numerical convergence and implementation are analyzed.
