The authors establish new functional versions of the Blaschke-Santaló inequality on the volume product of a convex body which generalize to the non-symmetric setting of an inequality of Ball. First they consider the case of ``centered functions'' i.e. measurable functions \(f_1,f_2=\mathbb R^n\to \mathbb R_+\) such that there exists a measurable function \(\rho:\mathbb R_+ \to \mathbb R_+\) verifying \[ f_1(x)f_2(y)\leq\rho^2(\langle x,y\rangle) \] for every \(x,y\in \mathbb R^n\) such that 1) \(\langle x,y\rangle\) is strictly positive and 2) the star-shaped set \(K_1=\{x\in \mathbb R^n;\int_0^{+\infty}r^{n-1}f_1(rx)\,dr \geq1\}\) is either centrally symmetric or is a convex body with center of mass at the origin. Then \[ \int_{\mathbb R^n}f_1(x)\,dx\int_{\mathbb R^n}f_2(y)\,dy \leq \biggl(\int_{\mathbb R^n}\rho(|x|^2)\,dx\biggr)^2. \] They prove this inequality attaching bodies \(K_1\) and \(K_2\) to the functions \(f_1\) and \(f_2\) and applying then the Blaschke-Santaló inequality for sets. They extend this result to the general case using the Brouwer fixed-point theorem. They obtain several interesting corollaries and in particular they investigate the following question: What are the Borel measures \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb R^n\) and the sets \(K\) in \(\mathbb R^n\) which satisfy a Blaschke-Santaló type inequality \[ \mu(K)\cdot \mu(K^{\circ})\leq\mu(B^n_2)^2? \]
