For a certain class of interval maps with critical points and singularities, \textit{K. Díaz-Ordaz} et al. [Stoch. Dyn. 6, No. 4, 423--458 (2006; Zbl 1130.37362)] proved the existence of a Gibbs-Markov induced map. From their results, the central limit theorem (CLT) follows. For a more general class of maps, \textit{V. Araújo} et al. [Adv. Math. 221, No. 5, 1428--1444 (2009; Zbl 1184.37032)] showed the existence of an absolutely continuous invariant measure, but properties such as the CLT do not follow directly from their method. The paper reviewed here considers the maps studied in [Araújo et al., loc. cit.]. With slightly strengthened hypotheses, they obtain a vector-valued almost sure invariance principle, the CLT, and results on the decay of correlations and large deviations.
