Let \(T_ mf(x)=\int_{R^ n}\hat f(\xi)m(| \xi |)e^{-2\pi ix\xi}d\xi\), \(\hat f\) denoting the Fourier transform of f. The author proves two general ``transference'' theorems for such operators, which allow to transfer some \(L^ 2\)-estimates for radial multipliers from lower to higher dimensions. By means of these theorems he obtains the following results: a) the boundedness of Bochner-Riesz operator \(T^{\lambda}\) defined as above with \(m(t)=(1-t^ 2)_+^{\lambda},\) \(0<\lambda \leq (n-1)/2\) in the space \(L^ p_{rad}\) \((L^ 2_{ang})(R^ n)\) with mixed norm \[ [\int^{\infty}_{0}[\int_{S^{n-1}}| f(r\bar y)|^ 2d\sigma (\bar y)]^{p/2}r^{n-1}dr]^{1/p} \] in the case \(2n/n+1+2\lambda <p<2n/n-1-2\lambda\), n even; b) the radial Littlewood- Paley and irregular multiplier theorem in \(L^ 2(R^ n;| x|^{\alpha}dx)\) in the case of irregular multiplier disjoint spherical shells. For a) we note also that the case \(\lambda =0\) is considered in \(L^ p_{rad}\) \((L^ 2_{ang})\) by \textit{A. Cordoba} in ibid. 21-29 (1989).
