The authors consider the spherical convolution operator of the potential type \[ (K^{\alpha,\nu}f)(x)=\int\limits_{S_{n-1}} \frac{f(\sigma)}{|x-\sigma|^{n-1-\alpha}}\ln^\nu\frac{m}{|x-\sigma|}d\sigma, \;\;\;\;x\in S_{n-1}, \] and the corresponding hypersingular integral \[ (D^{\alpha,\nu}f)(x)=\lim\limits_{\varepsilon\to 0}\int\limits_{S_{n-1}\atop |x-\sigma|>\varepsilon} \frac{f(\sigma)-f(x)}{|x-\sigma|^{n-1+\alpha}}\ln^\nu\frac{m}{|x-\sigma|}d\sigma, \;\;\;\;x\in S_{n-1}, \] where \(0<\Re\alpha<1\), \(\nu\in\mathbb{R}^1\) and \(m>3\). They study the mapping properties of these operators in weighted generalized Hölder spaces \(H^\omega_0(S_{n-1},\rho)=\{f: \rho f\in H^\omega(S_{n-1}), \rho f|_{x=a}=0\}\) on the unit sphere \(S_{n-1}\), where \(\rho(x)=|x-a|^\mu\), \(0<\mu<n\), \(a \in S_{n-1}\), and \[ H^\omega(S_{n-1})=\left\{f\in C(S_{n-1}): \sup\limits_{0<h<\leq 2}\frac{\omega(f,h)}{\omega(h)}< \infty\right\}, \] \(\omega(f,h)\) is the modulus of continuity of \(f\) and \(\omega(h)\) is a given function of the type of continuity modulus in the Zygmund-Bary-Stechkin-type class \(\Phi\). The main results are given in Theorems 4.2 and 4.3 which state that, under certain assumptions on \(\omega(h)\), the operator \(K^{\alpha,\nu}\) is bounded from \(H^\omega_0(S_{n-1},\rho)\) into \(H^{\omega_{\alpha,\nu}}_0(S_{n-1},\rho)\) and the operator \(D^{\alpha,\nu}\) is bounded from \(H^\omega_0(S_{n-1},\rho)\) into \(H^{\omega_{-\alpha,\nu}}_0(S_{n-1},\rho)\), respectively, where \(\omega_{\alpha,\nu}(h)=\omega(h)h^{\Re\alpha}\left(\ln \frac{m}{h}\right)^\nu\). The proofs are based on Zygmund-type estimation of the continuity modulus of \((K^{\alpha,\nu})f(x)\) and \((D^{\alpha,\nu})f(x)\). The case where \(\alpha=i\theta\) is also considered (Theorem 4.4). The case \(\nu=0\) when there is known the exact expression for the operator inverse to \(K^{\alpha,0}\): \ \((K^{\alpha,0})^{-1}=cI+D^{\alpha,0}\), was earlier considered in [\textit{B. G. Vakulov}, Sov. Math. 30, No.11, 90--94 (1986); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 1986, No.11(294), 66--69 (1986; Zbl 0632.42011)].
