A definition for quantum cells, which is invariant under symplectic transformations, is proposed. This definition is applied in the study of positivity of Wigner and Husimi functions; in this way known results are improved. A more general notion of quantum cell adapted to study of integrable Hamiltonian systems is introduced, by the same author [in: Phase space quantization and the uncertainty principle, Phys. Lett. A, 317, No. 5--6, 365--369 (2003; Zbl 1058.81045)].
