An algebra \(A\) is endoprimal if, for all \(k\in N\), the only maps from \(A^k \rightarrow A\) preserving endomorphisms of \(A\) are its term functions. The first examples of endoprimal algebras were quasi-primal algebras having no non-trivial subalgebras, and only very few natural examples were known. In this paper the authors present a method for finding finite endoprimal algebras via the theory of natural dualities -- and endodualisable algebras are necessarily endoprimal. General results on endoprimality and endodualisability are proved and then applied to the varieties of sets, vector spaces, distributive lattices, Boolean algebras, Stone algebras, Heyting algebras, semilattices and abelian groups. Also an example of a dualisable and endoprimal algebra which is not endodualisable is given.
