A continuous nonlinear map \(\Phi\) between two Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\) is called ray-invertible if for each \(y\in Y\) there exists a continuous path \(\gamma: [0,1]\to X\) such that \(x(0)= 0\) and \(\Phi(\gamma(t))= ty\) for \(0\leq t\leq 1\). The author proves that local invertibility and ray-invertibility is equivalent to global invertibility.
