The authors develop a three-dimensional numerical model for the problem of a porous body which moves parallel with or perpendicular to a plane interface between two similar fluids. An integral equation formulation is considered, where the external flow is represented by means of the Stokes integral representation formula, and the internal flow by means of the Brinkman integral representation formula. From the computations performed for spherical bodies, it can be concluded that the proposed numerical technique is suitable for bodies of arbitrary shape and for arbitrary prescribed body motions. As an example of practical applications, the authors determine the effect of fluid stratification on the flow velocity.
