The authors consider the initial value problem for an ordinary differential equation with impulses at variable times given by surfaces where the impulses occur. They present the concept of upper and lower solutions and some comparison results containing the cases of no impulses (ordinary differential equation) and impulses at fixed times. To conclude, and as an application, they present an instability criterion for the impulsive problem.
