On the properties of some special functions related to Bessel's functions and their application in heat exchanger theory (Q1080329): Difference between revisions

Two classes of special functions, denoted by \(Bs_ n\) and \(Bes_ n\) and defined by certain power series in x and y, have been dealt with in this paper. Basic properties of these functions and their relationships with modified Bessel functions (of integer order) have been shown. Further several identities and differential and integral formulas have been given with respect to \(Bs_ n\) and \(Bes_ n\) functions. Applications of these functions to some important examples in the theory of heat transfer have also been given.
