This paper deals with a class of boundary value problems representative of problems in numerical weather prediction, plasma physics, weakly non- local solitary waves, etc. and compares the following four different techniques for solving the boundary value problems: (a) Perturbation technique; (2) Padé approximants technique; (3) rational Chebyshev pseudospectral algorithm; (4) pseudospectral method with a mixed basis that includes a special radiation function for the plus sign case of the boundary value problems.
