The authors study axisymmetric snap-through static and dynamic buckling of moderately thick laminated shallow annular spherical cap under transverse load. The central circular opening is either free or plugged by a rigid central mass. The problem is studied for clamped and simply supported edge conditions. The numerical results obtained by using the first-order shear deformation shallow shell theory are compared with the results based on the classical lamination theory taking into account the effect of shear deformation.
