This paper deals with several necessary conditions for the solvability of some higher-order partial differential inequalities containing a gradient term \(g(x,u(x),Du(x))\) both in \(\mathbb{R}^N\) and in bounded domains. The principal part of the corresponding operator is the polyharmonic operator \((-\Delta)^k\) (respectively, \(\partial_t-(-\Delta)^k\)). -- In the case of bounded domains the coefficients of the gradient term can have singularities. The proofs are based on a modification of the nonlinear capacity method of S. Pohozaev.
