The authors consider the neutral type system \[ 0=F(A_0,A_1,x,\dot{x},t) \] with the initial condition \(x(t)=\phi(t),\;\;t\in[-\tau,0]\). The main contributions of the paper are: (1) a new model transformation method is proposed; (2) based on this transformation method, the paper extends a class of existing stability criteria; (3) procedures to solve a class of nonlinear matrix inequalities are proposed. Two illustrative examples indicate that the extended stability criteria have feasible solutions when the corresponding original criteria are not applicable.
