    An observer-based fault detection algorithm for the bilinear system \[ E\dot x=A^0 x+ \sum^m_{i=1} u^iA^ix+ Bu+D_1w+F_1f \] \[ y=C^0x+\sum^m_{i=1} u^iC^ix+D_2w+ F_2 f \] is developed, based on the use of LMI's (linear matrix inequalities). A simple example is given.
