The authors study the effects of oscillating surface heat flux on a free-convective flow past a semi-infinite vertical plate. By using a well-known transformation, the boundary layer equations are transformed to ordinary differential equations for small and large values of \(\xi\), where \(\xi\) is a distance measured from the leading edge of the plate. The corresponding asymptotic solutions are derived for the amplitude and phase of shear stresses and for the fluctuating surface temperature. The asymptotic solutions are compared with numerical solutions obtained by the Keller's box method, and the agreement is well.
