Consider the exclusion process with formal generator: \[ Lf(\eta)= \sum_{u<v} \bigl[ f( \eta^{u,v})-f( \eta) \bigr] \prod_{u<h<v} \eta(k) c(v-u)^{-\alpha}, \quad \alpha>0, \;\eta \in\{0,1\}^ Z. \] The authors prove that, starting from the product measure with density \(\rho<1\), the rescaled tagged particle position \(\varepsilon X_{t/ \varepsilon^ 2}\) converges as \(\varepsilon \to 0\) in distribution to a non-degenerate B. M. with variance \(\sigma^ 2 (\rho)\). Moreover, \(\sigma^ 2 (\rho)(1-\rho)^{2-\alpha} \to\) a positive constant, as \(\rho \to 1\). When \(\alpha<2\), the last property exhibits a singularity which provides a way to describe the self-organized criticality.
