    All groups under consideration are finite. A subset D of a group G is called a Fischer set of G (or a set of 3-transpositions) if the following conditions are satisfied: (1) G is generated by D; (2) each element of D is an involution; (3) if d and e are two distinct elements in D then de is of order 2 or 3; (4) D is a union of conjugacy classes of G. The well- known theorem of B. Fischer is the classification of all groups G/Z(G) where G contains a Fischer set and satisfies two additional conditions: \(G'=G''\) and \(O_{2,3}(G)\leq Z(G).\) The main result of the paper under review is Theorem 14 in which groups with a set of 3-transpositions satisfying the additional condition \(G'=O\) 3(G) are studied.
