A first-order impulsive semilinear functional differential equation with infinite delay and \(L^2\)-control is considered in a Banach space. The phase space of the equation is defined in the spirit of traditional Hale and Kato's admissible spaces for infinite delay equations. The author uses the Schauder fix point theorem to obtain results on the existence of so-called mild solutions of the equation on a bounded time interval. The main result of the paper, Theorem 3.4, gives some sufficient conditions for the controllability of the equation. An example is presented for an illustration.
