In the representation theory of \(p\)-adic groups, an important development by Shintani in 1976 was that of introducing a certain class of functions. Since then, such ``Shintani functions'' have been defined for various real reductive groups and for the adelic analogues which prove useful in the theory of automorphic \(L\)-functions. In this paper, the author studies Shintani functions associated to spherical and nonspherical principal series representations of \(\mathrm{SL}(3, \mathbb{R})\). He obtains explicit formulae for the radial part of the Shintani functions and determines the dimension of the space of Shintani functions.
