Necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of fractional maximal operators in local Morrey-type spaces (Q2381617): Difference between revisions

The Morrey spaces are an important precursor to BMO. Unlike BMO, they have good properties under interpolation as the image of maps but not as domains of maps. The authors introduce local and global Morrey spaces and weak Morrey spaces and give weighted estimates on the fractional maximal operator on these spaces. They give necessary conditions, sufficient conditions, and in some cases, necessary and sufficient conditions for the operator to be bounded. The conditions are too many and too technical to give in a brief review. The results are studied by reduction to the study of the Hardy operator on cones of non-negative functions in weighted \(L^p\) spaces.
