The authors prove that certain approximation algebras are inversely closed using general theorems on the inversely closed property of subspaces of quasi-Banach algebras. As an application they consider scales of inversely closed subalgebras of the space \(C(\mathbb T)\) of continuous functions on the surface \(\mathbb T\) of the unit sphere in the complex plane, and of the space of continuous functions on \([-1,1]\). One of these scales contains the Wiener algebra of \(C(\mathbb T)\) the Fourier coefficients of which belong to \(\ell^1(\mathbb Z)\).
