The category of homotopy classes of asymptotic morphisms between \(C^*\)-algebras with an action of a groupoid is defined generalizing both the equivariant case [cf. \textit{E. Guentner, N. Higson} and \textit{J. Trout}, ``Equivariant \(E\)-theory for \(C^*\)-algebras'' (Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 703) (2000; Zbl 0983.19003)] and the \(C_0(X)\)-algebras case [cf. \textit{E. Park} and \textit{J. Trout}, J. Funct. Anal. 177, 178--202 (2000; Zbl 0989.46038)]. It is checked that this generalization agrees with the Connes--Higson construction. Then the equivariant \(E\)-groups for groupoids are constructed in a natural way. It is shown that these groups are compatible with tensor products and with morphisms of groupoids.
