This is a very clear exposition of an algorithm for approximating global attractors. Essentially, the algorithm involves bisecting compact sets and at each stage, removing subsets whose preimage does not intersect with itself or any of the other sets obtained. A rigorous analysis is given and simple examples are provided to illustrate the theory. Two substantial numerical examples, the Henon map and Chua's circuit are considered in detail.
