The authors prove the equality \(\sum_{i\geq 0}(-1)^i\dim_kH_i(A)=n\) where \(A\) is a finite dimensional algebra over a field \(k\), \(n\) is the number of simple \(A\)-modules and \(H_i(A)=\text{Tor}^{A^e}(A,A)\), \(i\geq 0\). Let \(\Delta\) be a finite quiver with \(n\) vertices, \(I\) an ideal of \(k\Delta\) generated by some paths, \(A=k\Delta/I\). If \(a=a_1\dots a_m\) is an oriented cycle of \(\Delta\) put \(ta=a_2\dots a_ma_1\), \(t^ia=t(t^{i-1}a)\), \(i\geq 2\). Corollary. \(\sum_{i\geq 1}H_i(A)=0\) if and only if for each oriented cycle of length \(m\) with \(m\) vertices at least one element of the set \(\{a,ta,\dots,t^{m-1}a\}\) belongs to \(I\).
