In this paper the authors prove that the affine Schur algebra \(\hat{S}(n,r)\) is affine quasi-hereditary. They use this result to show that the centralizer subquotient algebras of \(\hat{S}(n,r)\) are Laurent polynomial algebras. Moreover, they give a parameter set of simple \(\hat{S}(n,r)\)-modules and identify this parameter set with that given in [\textit{B. Deng} et al., A double Hall algebra approach to affine quantum Schur-Weyl theory. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2012; Zbl 1269.20045)]. The affine quasi-heredity of affine quantum Schur algebras is also studied in the appendix.
