The paper is dealt with explicit Nyström methods applied to a class of singular second order initial value problems of the form \(y''+(2/x)y'+f(x,y)=0,\) \(0<x<x_ f\), \(y(0)=a\), \(y'(0)=0\). It is shown that explicit Nyström methods can be used for the integration of this class of singular initial value problems. Moreover, the authors prove that the methods give their proper respective orders of convergence. This fact is also presented numerically by testing these methods on the singular equations of Emden and Liouville.
