In his famous work, \textit{M. J. Feigenbaum} [J. Stat. Phys. 19, No.1, 25- 52 (1978; Zbl 0509.58037)] proved (on the physical strictness level) that for some wide class of nonlinear systems bifurcations of a generic system of that class are quantitatively the same (period-doubling, accumulation with prescribed asymptotics). One of the main stages of this proof is the statement that some functional equation \(g(x)=-K^{-1}g(g(Kx))\), where \(K>0\), has an even analytical solution. In 1981-82 this statement was rigorously proved. The proposed proofs are, however, based on extensive computations. The author proposes a shorter proof of this statement.
