There are several uniform ways to characterize parabolicity and stochastic completeness -- using the Liouville type property for Schrödinger operators, curvature bounds, the maximum principle and existence of cut-off functions satisfying certain properties. The authors present and prove characterization of these properties in terms of Green's formula with the boundary at infinity. However the results hold true for a manifold with boundary imposed Neumann boundary condition. Some examples are discussed.
