The authors prove \(L^2\) and \(H^1\) error bounds for bilinear interpolation on long, thin quadrilaterals. The angles of such a quadrilateral are required to be bounded away from 0 and \(\pi\), and two sides are required to be much longer than the others and nearly parallel. Such quadrilaterals fit naturally to the geometry of some applications.
