Let K be a planar convex body, and let \(P_ 1\), \(P_ 2\) be two distinct points not belonging to the boundary \(\partial K\) of K and such that the line \(P_ 1P_ 2\) intersects the interior of K. Under the assumption that \(\partial K\) is sufficiently smooth it is shown that the jth derivatives of the polar representations of \(\partial K\) at the points \(Z_ 1\), \(Z_ 2\) where \(\partial K\) intersects \(P_ 1P_ 2\) are uniquely determined by the n-chord functions of K [see \textit{R. J. Gardner}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 36, 314-326 (1987; Zbl 0634.52003)] at \(P_ 1\) and \(P_ 2\) if one of the following situations holds: (i) \(P_ 1\) and \(P_ 2\) are both interior to K; (ii) \(P_ 1\) and \(P_ 2\) are both exterior to K; (iii) only one of the points \(P_ 1\), \(P_ 2\) is interior to K and \(P_ 1\), \(P_ 2\), \(Z_ 1\), \(Z_ 2\) do not form a harmonic group.
