The Dold-Kan correspondence gives an equivalence \(K\) between nonnegative graded cochain complexes and cosimplicial abelian groups (which is inverse to the normalization functor). The restriction of \(K\) to DG-rings is here equipped with an associative product, and the resulting functor \({\mathcal {DGR}}^*\to {\mathcal R}ings^\Delta\) induces an equivalence for the homotopy categories. The main tool is a functor \(Q\) naturally homotopy equivalent to \(K\) which preserves the Quillen closed model structure. Some other applications of \(Q\) are given (e.g., non-commutative Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg and Loday-Quillen theorems, and a simple description of the Nuss product on a tensor power).
