    \textit{L. Grafakos} et al. [J. Geom. Anal. 21, No. 1, 118--149 (2011; Zbl 1219.42008)] introduced the multilinear strong maximal function \(\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R}}\) by setting \[ \mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R}} (\vec{f})(x) = \sup_{x \in R \in \mathcal{R}} \prod_{i=1}^m \frac{1}{| R |}\int_R | f_i(y_i) | \, dy_i, \] where \(\mathcal{R}\) denotes the family of all rectangles in \({\mathbb R}^n\) with sides parallel to the axes. They obtained the weighted estimates for \(\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R}}\). The authors consider fractional maximal operators \[ \mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R}, \alpha} (\vec{f})(x) = \sup_{x \in R \in \mathcal{R}} \prod_{i=1}^m \frac{1}{| R |^{1- \alpha/mn}}\int_R | f_i(y_i) | \, dy_i, \] and introduce new weights classes as follows. We say that \(\vec{w} \in A_{(\vec{p},q), \mathcal{R}}\) if \[ \sup_{R \in \mathcal{R}} \left( \frac{1}{| R |} \int_R \nu_{\vec{w}}^q \, dx \right) \prod_{i=1}m \left( \frac{1}{| R |} \int_R w_i^{-p_1'} \, dx \right)^{1/p_i'}, \] where \(\nu_{\vec{w}} = \prod_{i=1}^m w_i\). They prove the following: \[ \| \mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R}, \alpha} (\vec{f}) \|_{L^q( \nu_{\vec{w}}^q)} \leq C\prod_{i=1}^{m} \| f_i \|_{L^{p_i}( {w_i}^{p_i})} \] if and only if \(\vec{w} \in A_{(\vec{p},q)}\). They also consider two-weight inequalities. As a corollary, they give a new proof for the weight estimate of multilinear fractional integral operator by \textit{K. Moen} [Collect. Math. 60, No. 2, 213--238 (2009; Zbl 1172.26319)].
