The author mainly considers the solvability of the following transmission problem, especially when \(\mu\) is allowed to be equal to \(-1\) on points of \(\partial\Omega\), \[ (- \Delta+ q- k^2_i) u= 0,\quad \text{in} \quad \Omega,\quad (- \Delta- k^2_e) v= 0,\quad \text{in} \quad \Omega, \] \[ u= v+ f,\quad \partial_n u= \mu \partial_n v+ g\quad \text{on} \quad \partial \Omega \] and at infinity, the Sommerfeld's radiation condition holds. Let \(N= \{x\in \partial \Omega, \mu(x)= - 1\}\). The author discusses the existence and regularity of a solution to the pseudo-differential equation concerning the boundary value problems for the three cases 1) \(N= \emptyset\), 2) \(N= \partial\Omega\) and \(n\geq 3\), 3) \(N\) is discrete and \(n= 2\), where \(n\) is the dimension of \(\Omega\).
