Classical equation of motion for single-degree-of-freedom system is considered where stationary random excitation is described by two random parameters of the autocorrelation function. The parameters belong to a bounded convex set. When the set is represented by an ellipse, close solutions are derived for the lower and upper bounds of mean-square displacement of a structural system. The conclusion is that the least favourable mean-square response should be taken into account in practical evaluations.
