A MACSYMA program is developed which uses multi time perturbation- bifurcation techniques to perform a multiple bifurcation analysis with the aim to investigate the nonlinear interaction of the steady and periodic states of an initial boundary value problem for a system of nonlinear partial differential equations modeling double-diffusive convection. The input of the program consists of the partial differential system to be solved, the form of the asymptotic expansion of the solution and of the bifurcation parameter, the solution of the adjoint linearized system and the desired order of approximation. The program calculates the asymptotic solution and the normal form of the amplitude equation. Once started the program does not require any intervention by the user. As an example serves a double-zero eigenvalue problem arising in a thermohaline convection system.
