Orders in quadratic fields. I (Q1312052): Difference between revisions

The author provides a sufficient condition for the class group of a quadratic order to be generated by ambiguous ideals in terms of certain prime-producing quadratic polynomials. He conjectures that this sufficient condition is also necessary. In a sequel to this paper [ibid. 69, 368-371 (1993)], he also provides a lower bound for the class number of arbitrary complex quadratic order.
