The author presents calculation of integrals to establish the equivalence of the following conditions on a positive function \(g\) defined on the open unit ball \(B\) of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\), wherein \(0<\alpha \leq 2\), \(\alpha <n\), \(g_ \alpha (x)= (1- \| x\|^ 2 )^{\alpha/2-1}\), \(K_ \alpha (x,z)= g_ \alpha(x)\). \((1- (\| x\|^ 2)/ \| x- z\|^ n\): (1) \(g\) is \(\alpha\)-harmonic on \(B\) [\textit{J. Bliedtner} and \textit{W. Hansen}, Potential theory. An analytic and probabilistic approach to balayage (Springer 1986; Zbl 0706.31001)], (2) \(g\) is a product of \(g_ \alpha\) and a harmonic function for the Laplacian on \(B\), (3) There exists a (unique) measure \(m\) on the unit sphere \(C\) such that \[ g(x)= \int_ C K_ \alpha (x,z)\;m(dz). \]
