In this paper some nonstandard variable projection (VARPRO) algorithms for separable nonlinear least squares are discussed. The main issues are related to the introduction of constraints on the linear and nonlinear variables. The authors also provide details on efficient function and approximate Jacobian evaluations for the inequality constrained VARPRO method.
