The author revises a monogenic calculus for several non-commutative operators, which is defined via group representations. Instead of an algebraic homomorphism, he uses group covariance. The related notion of joint spectrum and spectral mapping theorem are discussed. The construction is illustrated by a simple example of the calculus and joint spectrum of two non-commuting selfadjoint \(n \times n\) matrices. The consideration employs Clifford algebras, wavelet transforms, and other modern tools.
