Let \(G\) be an abelian group of order \(q^2\) with a subgroup \(N\) of order \(q\) and a subset \(D\) of order \(q\). Assume that any element in \(G \setminus N\) occurs exactly once as a difference of two elements from \(D\). Then this is called a shift group. To any shift group there is associated an affine plane, with \(G\) acting regularly on the affine points. This plane is called a shift plane. The paper deals with constructions of unitals in these shift planes for \(q\) odd.
